Lufthansa's Sierra Juliet is departing Barcelona's 25L via the DALIN2W standard instrument departure.
This one is dedicated to a very close friend who in a few days will fly his 100th Lufthansa flight. There's no better way to fly.
British Airways G-BNWM (B767-336) is seen shortly before landing at Barcelona Airport at sunset. British Airways operates eight daily flights from London Heathrow to Barcelona, two of them with Boeing 767s.
As noted in one of the posts below, the standard instrument departures from Barcelona's runway 25 left mandate a left turn before reaching 500 feet. This enables nice perspectives of the planes as they bank left shortly after taking off. A few examples:
A Vueling A320 is slowly floating over the landing lights on final approach to Barcelona's runway 25 right, when the sun starts to go down towards the horizon.
What a sad sight. A week after this picture of EC-KJE (MD-87) was taken, Spanair ceased operations. This particular MD87 is almost 24 years old, and finding a new home seems unlikely for it.
Qatar Airways A7-ACC (Airbus A330-200) slowing down after landing on Frankfurt's runway 25 right. Note the front landing gear still hasn't touched the ground.
A TAP Airbus A319 on the left bank just after takeoff from Barcelona's runway 25 left. The standard departure pattern calls for a left turn towards the sea at or below 500 feet, in order to avoid populated areas.
